The Chief Constable is responsible for direction and control of SHP, response, neighbourhood policing, investigations, force intelligence, public order, professional standards, the workforce and force readiness.

Local police commanders
Each Local Policing Area is led by a local police commander within SHP. Local commanders are responsible for policing delivery in Alderstead, Brightmere, Stonehaven, Rosehaven, Bridgewell or Greenhaven.
