The policing settlement
SHP, NPS and HIOWC are distinct police institutions with different jurisdictions and functions.
South Havenstead Police
Territorial policing across Havenstead.
National Police Service
Central national policing functions, including nationally significant investigations, intelligence, standards and specialist national support within NPS competence.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary
An England territorial police force within the Hampshire policing settlement. It is not an SHP or NPS command.
Historical context
HRC-wide community rule enforcement was historically moderation and community administration. Hampshire Constabulary existed separately as an England-side roleplay and public-service function in the former environment.
South Havenstead Police is part of the current public policing settlement. It is not a renamed HRC moderation team, and the history of HIOWC must not be recast as former national or central policing.
